Keratin Treatment Hair Salon
Lots of salons these days offer Keratin treatment that claims to be formaldehyde-free. That seems to be weird of course. There’s no such thing as a truly chemical-free hair-straightening treatment. For a keratin treatment to give you shiny, straighter, frizz-free hair for months, it must contain formalin or another chemical in the same family.
Keratin treatments have evolved so much over the years and customers no longer complain about its strong chemical smell. Keratin hair treatments are a semi-permanent, hair-smoothing, curl-softening professional chemical treatment. They make hair straighter, shinier and even healthier. The treatments are usually made up of a chemical like formaldehyde (which creates the long-lasting smoothing effect), conditioners, and some keratin (a protein our hair is made of to add strength).
Why Keratin Treatment?
Keratin hair treatments are a semi-permanent, hair-smoothing, curl-softening professional chemical treatment. They make hair straighter, shinier and even healthier. The treatments are usually made up of a chemical like formaldehyde (which creates the long-lasting smoothing effect), conditioners, and some keratin (a protein our hair is made of to add strength).
Often compared to the Japanese Hair Straightening, many women prefer undergoing keratin treatments for their hair. Japanese Hair straightening is permanent and removes all the curl to create a pin-straight strands that can damage your hair. If you have frizzy hair, this method of straightening your hair would make it worse. Keratin treatment, although only lasts three to six months, can provide wonderful results to your hair. They will not straighten, but it softens them. What’s more brilliant is that it can eliminate frizz and make your hair even healthier over time.
One of the primary advantages of having a keratin treated hair is the fact that they are very easy to take care of and maintain. The chances of maintaining your hair in good condition is far better than the other, as they are more vibrant and younger-looking. However, an easier life is not the only reason to go for keratin treated hair, they are also at the forefront of beauty and fashion trends, as many celebrities indicate.
How Does it Work?
The stylist applies a keratin hair-straightening product to your hair and then uses the heat of a flat iron to seal it in. The process takes about 90 minutes or longer, depending on your hair’s length. Salon keratin products include Keratin Complex Smoothing Therapy by Coppola, Global Keratin Complex, the La-Brasiliana treatment, Brazilian Keratin Treatment, the Brazilian Blowout, and Brazilian Hair Straightening.
If you usually style your hair straight, a keratin hair-straightening treatment could shorten your blow-dry time by 40% to 60%, says hair stylist Henri Borday of New York’s Mizu salon and corporate educator for Global Keratin.
You can forget about frizzy hair after this treatment. “You could walk out in the moist or light rain and your hair won’t change,” Borday says. You shouldn’t wash your hair for three or four days after getting the treatment. That’s because the solution takes the time to work, he says.
After you get a keratin hair treatment, and after the don’t-wash waiting period, you should use sodium-sulfate-free shampoo to help maintain the treatment.
How Long Does It Last?
As mentioned before, a keratin treatment is temporary, unlike the Japanese hair straightening. You can expect the results to last two to 2 1/2 months or 6 months depending on your lifestyle.
Are you right for the treatment?
Ladies, you are probably wondering if you are actually right for this type of treatment.
If you have unruly hair that is super curly and all kinds of frizzy in the summer, then this could actually be the treatment option for you! As I have mentioned, formaldehyde is one of the chemicals that is typically used in these types of treatments. Although it has a strong smell that can cause other serious illness, its effects can be lessened when the ventilation is properly placed.
Women are without a doubt the most beautiful and adored creatures the world has to offer. Whether young or old, they are definitely always the center of attraction. Hairstyles are extremely pivotal for the hair and overall appearance. The same everyday hairdo ultimately makes you feel and look boring and dull which is why it is good to get new short hairstyles ideas. The same goes for older women. The famous saying “old is gold” is surely true. Old women possess their own allure and grace.
